AirAsia has so many marketing techniques, and one of them is the famous ZERO fare flight. It sounds good right! The word ZERO sounds cheapest you could get because you think it's FREE !
Well think again! It's stated as ZERO but NOT FREE! The only catch is you've to booked the flight 9 months or 1 year ahead. Fair Deal right? Because you're giving AirAsia ample of time to plan out their plane utilization. So, they give you "CHEAPEST" flight than other airlines.
But on the day of the Zero fare launching, i did a simple comparison between AirAsia and JetStar. On the TOTAL cost of flight from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore, AirAsia was beaten by JetStar!
And to my surprise, JetStar does not need you to book 9 months or 12 months ahead. Just book any flight the next few days and you're getting a cheaper rate THAN ZERO fare!
Lesson learned is ALWAYS compare with other before you decided.
